A watercolor pad or block (140 lb cold press or rough (Arches, Fabriano or other professional grade papers are recommended.) 9”x12” or bigger
A watercolor sketchbook (140lb. paper is highly recommended. A watercolor visual journal 140 lb from Strathmore or Canson XL watercolor pad 140lb are good to try.
Graphite pencils: HB, 2B, or 4B. White plastic eraser and Kneaded Eraser 6. Pen with waterproof ink fine point
One mop or wash brush
Three rounds: small #2-4, medium #5-6, large #8-10
One rigger and one flat
Transparent Tracing Paper, Manila paper of glassine paper (for protection)
Transparent Watercolor: Use professional grade paint and have at least 1-2 triads. It’s preferred to get one warm and one cool triad. You can use either a pan set or tube paints. A pan set is convenience for traveling and outdoor sketch.
Aureloin or New Gamboge - Permanent Alizarin Crimson - Scarlet Lake or Cadmium red - Ultramarine Blue, Phthalo blue - Cobalt Blue, Celeron Blue - Phthalo Green, Olive Green, Sap Green - Winsor Green or Viridian Green - Burnt Sienna, Natural Tint - Cobalt Violet and Rose Madder
Watercolor Palette, Water container, spray bottle of water, Brush holder
Paper Towels (cloth-like: Viva or blue shop towels)
