The goal of the portrait classes provide students with demonstrations, practice techniques to render a three dimensional form in perspective on a flat surface. Students dan begin at their level and progress. Find the day/time for your level.

Sculpture Class

  • In the four-hour studio class Rachel Chang will teach beginning students the basics, and intermediate and advanced students how to further develop their skills while working in either water-based or oil-based clay. Class Instruction will be crucial in helping students develop their three dimensional eye, intuition, and imagination.
  • Figurative or abstract, Rachel help you work from a drawing, photo photo references or your imagination as you work to sculpt your ideas into reality.
  • This class is also great for concept art, fans of comics, video games, toys or character design… bring your fantastical concept to life, designing and creating an original free-standing creature, character or animal.
  • Advanced students are able to create molds and cast their masterpieces with an additional materials list.
  • We strongly recommend registering for a block of 4 classes to complete your project.

A watercolor sketchbook or visual journal (Strathmore or Canson XL watercolor pad, 140lb)

Transparent Tracing Paper, Manila paper, or glassine paper for protection

R

One mop or wash brush, Three rounds: small #2-4, medium #5-6, large #8-10, One rigger and one flat

Painting board, artist tape, clips and regular tape (You may not need these items if you use a block.)

Graphite pencils: HB, 2B, or 4B 5. White plastic eraser and Kneaded Eraser. Pen with waterproof ink fine point

Use professional grade paint and have at least 1-2 triads. It’s preferred to get one warm and one cool triad. You can use either a pan set or tube paints.
