Eli Cedrone will bring her knowledge and skill all the way from Bermuda.
Learn the steps to take your idea to the next level and create world class art! Starting with the philosophy that every painting must begin with a
concept, we’ll explore where these ideas originate… current events, emotions, nature even photos. Through live demos and constructive critiques, students will learn the skills necessary to make more profound statements which communicate effectively to the viewer. Students will also learn how Eli uses her creative journal.
The focus will be on the dynamics of the painting process, from starting techniques to moving beyond the “quick oil sketch”. Much importance is placed on preliminary sketches and developing an oil study, which is key as a color reference and useful in working out specific problems for the finished painting. We will learn to see accurately in terms of value, color, temperature and edge detail. Other topics covered will include design, editing and simplifying forms and values for the greatest impact. The workshop is designed to further challenge students depending on their skill level.
