About The Art Studio

The Art Studio

Founded by Local Artists Since 1994

The Art Studio is an art studio teaching students in Orange County and Los Angeles Area since 1994. We offer art classes, workshops and events, and summer camps for kids, teens, adults and all experience levels!  Owner Denise Wada has over 25 years’ experience teaching art and graphic design. She was raised in Orange County and is very excited to serve the neighborhood, community and city in which she grew up!

Upon entering the studio, students begin a journey where talent is nurtured, interests are embraced, and learning is fun. One size does not fit all, and every part of our teaching process is meant to meet the interest, development, and personality of the individual student with knowledge and techniques to visual expression. In our technologically fast-paced world, our goal is to quiet the noise so students can hear their voice, explore what interests them, have the courage to express themselves, and become problem solvers as they create art.

Our Instructors

Denise Wada

As a child, I loved to draw horses. I would check out books from the library and take them home to draw the covers. But as I grew up, I began to fill my time with other interests. In preparing for college, I considered accounting, art therapy, and illustration. inevitably I chose a Bachelor of Fine Arts from California State University Long Beach in Graphic Design.

It was my search for art classes for my young daughter when I found The Art Studio. I was the one who began taking weekly oil painting classes and, full circle, I found my youthful love for art. My passion has become a commitment I share with others by continuing The Art Studio’s legacy, creating artwork, and teaching others. Guided by years of training by many great artists, I too want to be accessible and provide instruction for all artists along their journey.

Luke Gray

Luke Gray brings energy and excitement to Drawing for the Entertainment Industry’s Saturday class. His motivation to help his students improve their portfolios can be seen the way he connects with them. He teaches the class on an individual basis, so his lessons on how to draw and storytelling are all tailored to each student’s project. As a professional in the industry, he is able to share experience, anecdotes, and best practices.
