Summer art camp is a child's opportunity to be curious and creative outside of their traditional education. The Art Studio is a teaching environment that values the students freedom to express themselves, collaborate with others and problem solve through creative exploration. Each students is encouraged to work at their individual skill level. The classroom offers a non-competitive environment with an enriching opportunity for collaboration. Beginners will learn the basic drawing skills that they can build on, while those with more experience can increase their knowledge.

We will be limiting each session to 12 students so each child will get a lot of personal attention with 2 instructors. The Art Studio offers a non-competitive environment with each child having individual projects just for them.

*There will be a break time for lunch or a snack. You may send a snack/lunch along with your camper or give them $5 to buy pizza or Mexican food in our Center. They will be supervised when they order and pick up food in either restaurant.

Early exploration in art is tailored just for a small group of (6) younger children. The instructor will intrigue these students by introducing a brief art history lesson and will provide the young artists to recreate their own art through a relative and age appropriate art project. Basic art concepts will be introduces throughout the week as students explore different mediums every day.

We are delighted to have JASON DOWD back again this year at TAS Art Camp. Jason is a painting and drawing instructor at Laguna College of Art and Design and is also represented by 4 national galleries. He teaches Portraiture and Beginning Drawing at TAS and has been an inspiration with his outstanding drawing skills in former Art Camps. Draw-Alongs with Jason have been a popular camp activity and he will now head up the Sculpture classes as well.

RUTH HOLLIS, children and teen instructor at TAS, will be sharing Painting projects with Jason and heading up the Skateboard Design and Painting projects. Our past skateboards have been awesome. Ruth has an MFA in Painting and Drawing with post-graduate work in France studying the figure. She is the owner/manager of TAS and has much experience instructing art to children. She also teaches a Special Ed class in the Fountain Valley School District.
